A student walks into our center alone on Rosh Hashanah. She hardly knows what to expect or how she will be received. She finds a room that was prepared for her before she ever decided to come.

Brisket. Round challahs. Apples and honey. A machzor, with nobody checking whether she knows the tunes.

She enjoys a traditional holiday meal, joins the prayers, and hears the shofar on the second day of Rosh Hashanah. She looks around and realizes:

Yes. There is room for me. There is space for me here.

Your gift helps us make space for her. Inside that welcome, she can begin making space in her own life for Shabbat, Jewish learning, community, friendship, and a Jewish identity she can carry proudly.
